My name is Irina Serkebayeva and I was born in Kazakhstan.
My father was an internationally renowned opera singer, both of my brothers and other relatives areprofessional musicians but me. I am a writer, journalist, author of five books. But I stillthe part of the family and this is why three of my books are bios of the opera and folksingers. Also, for many years I have been a motivational author for the women’smagazines. At some point I even worked as a script writer for the national soap-opera!But it was just an episode of my life. The soaps are not me at all!I was studying journalism in the Moscow State University as a student and I haveaccomplished the post-graduation school as well. Here in the US I studied in Boston REInstitute, earned an ARM designation. I am Florida CAM and work as a propertymanager. My yoga journey started so many years ago in my post-graduation school when my friendshowed me my very first asanas. At that time nobody knew what yoga is. Maybe somepeople barely heard about it. I remember my first head stand I have done in the corner ofmy microscopic dorm room. Through the years I kept practicing yoga. Just recently Idecided to become a yoga teacher and have done with Therapeutic Yoga Teacher TrainingLevel I and II here in Florida Yoga Academy studying with my teacher Inga Balciuniene. When I practice or teach the class I fell happy. I forget about everything else and thisfeeling of simple being here and now is very important for me. Yoga heals me, teachesme and makes me a better person. The most favorite part of any job I have ever done ispeople and their stories. Same here! Yoga students are very special people, so I reallyenjoy working as a yoga teacher sharing my knowledge and my heart with them.
